Welcome to DreadLine
WHAT'S UP
July 11, 2008!!!
Here's where you'll find what's new with DreadLine, like:
DreadLine is an all original heavy rock band based in Tidewater, Virginia. We are:

Dave Coleman

  • Lead Guitars
  • Joe Bruney

  • Bass & Vocals
  • Travis Fox

  • Vocals & Guitars
  •

  • Drums
  • DreadLine was formed in 2001 by Eric Johnson, Dave Coleman and Kenny "Skin" Andrews. In February of 2003, Travis Fox joined the lineup and DreadLine began playing live in the summer of 2003. Kenny Andrews resigned in August of 2006 and Rick "Rockman" took over the rhythm and backing vocal duties. At the end of December, 2007, both Rick Rockman and Eric Johnson departed the band to pursue other personal interests. Travis and Dave, determined to soldier on and not content to compromise DreadLine's musical catalog nor abandon a project with still so much potential, set out in search of replacements (as if) for both positions.

A fellow local musician that had emigrated from northern Virginia to Norfolk, Joe Bruney picked up the bass guitar for the first time ever in mid-February after a brief discussion with Travis at Tanner's Creek while attending Skinman's new band, The Villains', show. Joe played monstrous guitar but found he was stagnating with no real "group" to gel and perform with. He immediately jumped at the opportunity to get back under the lights, and with a band whose music he already knew and admired.

DreadLine has welcomed numerous stand-in drummers since they returned to the stage in May, 2008, including Fred Collier (gASOLINE), Lucky Riggs (Nemesis) and Kirk Ferguson (Pheen, Conflict of Interest, The Spring Equinox) in order to keep the wheels greased and the gears turning. Several other local talents auditioned for the position, but each of them lacked one particular aspect or another of Eric's playing that made them incompatible with the sound that you have come to know as DreadLine.

The web site is regularly updated, so check back often for new material. See photos of the band, read song lyrics or contact the band.
